Simplifying Smart Meter Data and Installations
How and why we make the complex simple
At Correla, we’re on a mission to streamline the energy market by reducing complexity and increasing digital connections so that the UK can decarbonise as quickly and as simply as possible. To do this, we provide the tools and software necessary to support the market in our critical decarbonisation mission, whilst enabling our customers to stay ahead of the curve.
It’s no secret that the energy sector is complex. It’s also a sector which is facing extremely challenging times. Yet, the quicker we can streamline the industry and remove its inefficiencies, the quicker the UK can reach its net zero goals.
Smart Meter Installation Challenges
The UK government wants energy suppliers to install smart meters in every home in England, Wales and Scotland.
This means rolling them out into over 26 million homes.
This also means overcoming the complexities and challenges that Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) currently face, whether it’s time pressures, operational inefficiencies, inadequate tracking systems or errors from manual billing.
Without overcoming these challenges then this roll out will be hard to achieve.
Simplifying SMETS2 Installations
We’re dedicated to creating solutions that solve hard to reach problems that only we can be trusted to solve.
Take our recent acquisition of CloudKB’s platform, uMesh. This solution allows MAPs to automate and streamline their processes and simplify the complex world of data. While this seems like a small part, by taking this technology one step further, together we can make it capable of supporting EV charge points, heat pumps and smart energy assets to help the UK decarbonise as fast as possible.
Accelerating Innovation in the Energy Industry
A huge and important industry, the energy sector will always be a slow one to evolve. Yet, as more and more businesses join in tackling these complex challenges with simple solutions, we’re seeing the pace of change accelerate.
It’s through simplification that we will remove barriers to progress and support our pathway to net zero. By supporting and developing products that make things simpler and greener, together we can support decarbonised heat, the move from natural gas to hydrogen and the transition to net zero.
It is this thinking that we help evolve our industry forward and lead the way in creating a cleaner, greener world.
