We are thrilled to announce that Correla has been shortlisted for the Culture Pioneers Award for Wellbeing. This recognition celebrates businesses that take a complete approach to employee wellbeing, ensuring that their people thrive both personally and professionally. This focus on wellbeing is deeply embedded in our culture and has a direct, positive impact on both our employees and the business.
Since Correla’s founding in March 2021, we have transformed from a not-for-profit organisation into a forward-thinking, private equity-backed business with ambitious growth plans. Our mission is simple yet powerful: “We create value and delight customers by developing and acquiring competitively priced, high-quality SaaS products and managed services; which, combined, power industry simplification and decarbonisation.” However, our success is not solely measured by the quality of our services, but also by how we treat our employees.
We recognise that creating a sustainable business involves more than offering innovative energy solutions, we needed to build a defined culture that prioritised inclusion, wellbeing, and the personal development of our team. As a Midlands-based data technology business employing 350 people, this meant transitioning from an unconscious and undefined culture to one that is intentional, conscious, and designed to support our people’s success.
Our people strategy reflects this commitment. By viewing our culture as a product, we have shaped a unique working environment that fosters inclusion and belonging, prioritises holistic well-being, and challenges traditional ways of working. We have introduced uncapped holiday and carer leave, gender-neutral parent leave, and flexible-by-design working, ensuring our employees have the support they need to balance their personal and professional lives.
The results of our approach speak for themselves. In our most recent employee survey (January 2024), 93.7% of participants said they felt their physical and psychological health was supported, while 90.4% said they had a good balance between work and home life. These statistics are not just numbers; they reflect the real, positive impact of our wellbeing initiatives on our team.
At Correla, our commitment to well-being extends beyond employee satisfaction; it directly contributes to our overall business mission. A happy, healthy, and engaged workforce drives innovation, enhances customer service, and delivers the exceptional results our clients expect. We’ve seen this through our highest-ever Institute of Customer Service Satisfaction score of 83.8 in 2024, exceeded the all-sector average of 76, and the utilities sector average of 69.5.
We are proud that we’ve taken the approach to put our people first, fostering a workplace where employees love to work and clients love to do business. This nomination reinforces our belief that by investing in our people, we can continue to grow and lead the way in the energy technology sector.
We wish the best of luck to all of the finalists, the event takes place on the 13th of November, stay tuned for updates.
